Members of ActionReaction form new band Old Wives

Jason Gleason and the members of ActionReaction, who last released 3 Is The Magic Number in the summer of 2006 through Equal Vision Records sub-label, Hope Division, have formed a new band called Old Wives.

Damiera to release "Quiet Mouth..." on June 24th

Equal Vision Records have set Tuesday, June 24th as the release date for Quiet Mouth Loud Hands, the sophomore album from Damiera.

Quiet Mouth Loud Hands was entirely self-produced and engineered by Damiera with the help of freshly appointed bass player, Jayson DeZuzio, who's list of album credits includes work with Coheed and Cambria and My Chemical Romance.

"Writing this album was unique," says founding member and vocalist Dave Raymond, "only because I can't imagine any other bands choosing to do it the way we did." Homeless and couch surfing in Buffalo, NY, the band did all of the writing and recording simultaneously in the studio they built inside of an abandoned school they used as a rehearsal space. "I'd spend days at the studio writing material and Jayson [DeZuzio] would help me sort through it deciding what we should develop and what should pass."

The band is currently scheduled to hit the road with Breathe Carolina and The White Tie Affair in the month of May. The trek begins tonight (May 6th) in Damiera's former hometown of Buffalo, NY.

Bane spring tour with I Rise and Wake Up Call

Bane has jumped in their van for a spring tour that began last night in Massachusetts.

Over the next ten days, Bane along with I Rise, Wake Up Call, and Meltdown will be playing shows together from New England down to Virginia. On May 3rd there's an off-date in Lemoyne, PA where Bane has booked a show with Iron Age and Lion of Judah. The final date of Bane's spring tour will be May 10th in Syracuse with Outbreak.

There are still a few copies of Bane's most recent album, The Note on limited edition picture-disc vinyl floating around the Equal Vision warehouse. Order yours from the Bane webstore while they still exist!

Equal Vision bands at Bamboozle May 3rd & 4th, 2008

This year the annual two-day Bamboozle Music Festival is being held once again in the Giants Stadium Parking Lot in East Rutherford, NJ on May 3rd & 4th, 2008.

If you only go to one event this year, you should probably make it Bamboozle. Where else can you see almost 150 bands over the course of two days? Plus Snoop Dogg and Panic at the Disco are headlining, and Bret Michaels is going to be there!

Equal Vision has a very strong presence at this year's festival, with six bands representing the label.

Chiodos playing pre-Bamboozle 'Hoodwink Festival'

Bamboozle has gotten so out of control, it needs a pre-festival, festival!

On Friday, May 2nd, the semi-secret Hoodwink Festival will take place in East Rutherford, NJ at the Giants Stadium Parking Lot, less than 24-hours before the official Bamboozle festivities begin at the same site!

Hoodwink will host Chiodos, along with Equal Vision veterans Armor For Sleep and Saves The Day plus thirteen other bands including Say Anything, Finch, and MXPX.

But here's the kicker... they're all playing under pseudonym's, so the only way to know for sure is to attend the show. With names like "Fluff My Boner," "Moms, Waffles, and Chickens," and "Funky Butt Lovin," you know you're in for a good time!

The Color Fred plans UK tour in May

The Color Fred plans UK tour in May For the first time since the release of The Color Fred's album, Bend To Break, Fred Mascherino and crew will be heading overseas for a 12-date tour around the United Kingdom in May.

It all starts May 10th at the Give It A Name Festival where Fred is playing alongside Paramore, 30 Seconds To Mars, Plain White T's, and labelmates Chiodos, amongst others.

Following the festival, The Color Fred, Meg & Dia, Four Year Strong, and Mayday Parade will be traveling for the next week and a half on the "Give It A Name Introduces..." Tour.

Up in Seattle, The Fall of Troy have been rehearsing with new bassist Frank Black for their spring headlining tour that's kicking off this Friday, April 18th in Denver.

Circa Survive to support non-profit Invisible Children

For their spring tour, Circa Survive is partnering with the non-profit organization Invisible Children to raise awareness about the war in Uganda - a region in East Africa that has suffered from civil unrest since the early 1980's.

Circa Survive will join tourmates Thrice and Pelican in donating prizes to The Invisible Children Spring Music Raffle, which will include an autographed Masters of Maple Snare Drum and a hand-painted First Act guitar from Circa Survive. In addition, the band will be releasing an exclusive, unreleased song during the tour with profits going to Invisible Children.

"We don't want to just raise money with this," said Brendan Ekstrom from Circa Survive. "We want to raise awareness so people really know where this money is going. It means a lot to us to be able to use our art to be involved with something so important."
